Local swaps
How swaps and meetups work
Toydacity is a local marketplace for families. Swaps come first. You can also sell or give something away. Nothing is shipped, and the site does not take payment.
How does a swap work?
List an item as a Swap. When another family has something you want, message them and propose a trade with one of your active swap listings. Nothing is reserved until they accept. After you meet, both families confirm the handoff and those listings close.
Does Toydacity handle payment or shipping?
No. Pickup is local, and families arrange it themselves. There is no checkout and no shipping label on the site.
How is a sale different from a swap?
A sale listing shows a price. You still meet in person and settle that payment between your families. Toydacity does not process the payment.
How do giveaways work?
A giveaway is free. You can ask for the item without offering one of yours. The family who listed it chooses who to meet, and you confirm the handoff together when you are both ready.
Where should we meet?
Choose a public, well-lit place you both know. Either family can suggest a place and a time on the trade. A meetup plan does not lock the trade — you can still complete the handoff when you are both comfortable.
What should we keep in mind for safety?
Tell another adult where you are going. Bring only the item you are exchanging. Look it over before you confirm, and leave if the meeting does not feel right. Meetup notes stay on the trade and are not shown on public profiles.
Which cities have listings?
Toydacity is open in Austin, Miami, Portland, Brooklyn, and San Jose. Open a city page to see what families there are offering right now.
